SMYTH NAMES WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD MAGAZINE AS SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR FOR THE 38TH ASSEMBLY DISTRICT

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Cameron Smyth (R-Santa Clarita), in conjunction with the California Small Business Association, has named Welcome To The Neighborhood Magazine of Simi Valley as the Small Business of the Year for the 38th Assembly District.

"Small businesses drive the economic engine of California, and I always welcome the opportunity to recognize hardworking business owners," said Smyth. "In addition to their economic contributions to our community, Ben Gilbert owner of Welcome To The Neighborhood Magazine have also shown community leadership as an active member of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce as well as Leadership Simi Valley".

Welcome To The Neighborhood Magazine is a direct mail advertising business that focuses on the community and the businesses' that reside in it. This April marks their 7th year in operation and business in Simi Valley.

Ben & Kid Gilbert creators and owners of Welcome To The Neighborhood Magazine, are very active members in the community. Their commitment to corporate giving is demonstrated by the support they give to programs that enhance leadership skills and foster community goodwill.

Ben & Kid will receive their award in Sacramento at a luncheon on June 6 and is sponsored by the California Small Business Association.

Assemblyman Cameron Smyth represents the 38th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and Glendale.
